Remote stroke rehabilitation

Following a stroke, individuals might encounter challenges in their daily lives due to impairments in movement, cognition, or language abilities.

Limitations in range of motion, mobility issues, memory problems, or difficulties in retrieving words are just some of the typical phenomena among those suffering from brain damage.

Sheba BEYOND’s remote rehabilitation unit offers a multidisciplinary rehabilitation approach with a suite of unique programs developed specifically at the medical center. These allow for online rehabilitation at home, via your personal computer, led by certified therapists, irrespective of location or distance.

The benefits of online stroke rehabilitation:

● Convenience
● Safety
● Accessibility
● Avoidance of exposure to infections
● Financial savings
● The option for self-practice in the patient’s leisure time

We offer several programs tailored to your abilities and goals:

Physical Rehabilitation Program

An online session with an occupational therapist or physiotherapist once or twice a week, integrating various activations and videos tailored to the patient's condition. The program focuses on improving daily functioning, upper limb mobility, and movement quality. It also enables self-practice at the patient's leisure, accompanied by clinical and technical guidance and assistance. This program is recommended for enhancing motor function. Concurrently, it includes elements aimed at improving cognition.

Cognitive Rehabilitation Program

A weekly virtual session with an occupational therapist involves a bespoke content plan designed around the patient's functional objectives. This therapy focuses on enhancing cognitive abilities such as attention, memory, and problem-solving through a variety of exercises and tasks. It also incorporates teaching various compensatory strategies and techniques to aid in daily living.

This program is recommended for individuals seeking to enhance their cognitive functions in everyday tasks.

Language and Speech Rehabilitation Program

A single bi-weekly online session with a speech therapist. Designed for treating individuals with acquired language and speech disorders, such as impairments in expression, comprehension, reading, and writing (aphasia), speech articulation disorders (dysarthria), and voice intensity issues.

Supervised self-practice subscription (physical program only)

A supervised self-practice subscription, available in the physical program only. The prgram is designed for individuals receiving physical therapy in a hospital or any other setting who need to continue self-practice to increase intensity and accelerate the rehabilitation process, or for people with a high level of functioning. The training includes self-practice through a series of exercises and videos in a personalized program, combined with a weekly video meeting with a physiotherapist or occupational therapist for clinical and technical guidance and support.
